The blades never rust or need sharpening, and are said to be unbreakable. There are only a handful in existence.

Meitou (名刀, "Famous/Excellent Sword" in Japanese) is the highest weapon grade in the game. Only the legendary smith Cross has been able to craft weapons of this quality. Their weapons are spread around the land of Kenshi, often owned by important dignitaries, rich nobles, or powerful warriors.

Trivia

• Despite being ostensibly unique one-of-a-kind weapon grade, it appears that some weapons may have more than one Meitou version of it, given that both Esata and Mukai have the Meitou version of the Fragment Axe. 3 Slave Mistresses (Kana, Grace, Ren) have Meitou version of Wakizashi, and Meitou of Longsword being held by both Longen and Valamon.
  • The weapons that can respawn after you loot them from the characters could also be potentially considered as evidence for replications, as some factions may have hidden stashes that they bring out in case the other is missing. That is, assuming it is an intended feature and not an abuse of game mechanics.
