This is a documentation subpage for Template:Apex. It may contain usage information, categories and other content that is not part of the original template page. |
Usage
This template inserts a character resembling the obsolete Vietnamese tilde diacritic, called an apex in the Dictionarium Annamiticum Lusitanum et Latinum by Alexandre de Rhodes. This diacritic has not been included in the Unicode standard, so a lookalike, U+1DC3 ◌᷃ COMBINING SUSPENSION MARK, is used instead as a workaround.
Parameters
The first parameter is the letter without the apex, that is, "o" or "u" with a horn and/or tone mark. The optional second parameter is the VIQR character for the tone mark to place above the apex. For example:
{{apex|o}}
→ o᷃{{apex|ơ}}
→ ơ᷃{{apex|u|`}}
→ u᷃̀{{wt|vi|xa{{apex|o}}}}
→ Template:Wt
